This sculpture/relief was commissioned by the DUT (Durban University of Technology) and Patel family in memory of an important donation from money set aside by the late Mr and Mrs JB Patel to increase research and study facilities at the ML Sultan Campus. The JB Patel Research Commons was officially opened on the 22 November 2010. I am proud to have been asked to sculpt Mr and Mrs JB Patel as a relief in bronze to honour a couple who had vision for their community.
