Workshops

Sarah Richards has been teaching art and sculpture, and facilitating workshops for the past 18 years. She teaches a variety of workshops now on request if a group of interested people is gathered. The types of workshops can be skill based or can help engage the artist with their creative process. Sculpture workshops can include portrait bust , basic casting and mould making skills, figure sculpture, working in wax or plasticine, armatures and more. Painting and drawing workshops address working from a model, photographs, beginner painting class, colour mixing and more.

A fun and dynamic workshop to inspire and teach quick drawings from life.

This workshop is a chance to get away and learn to draw what you see. Draw from life - the small things - like a jug in the kitchen, or basic architecture structures as well as people. Fun, simple, fast drawings that will encourage you to sketch everyday as they only take a few minutes.

Modeling a Portrait Bust workshop from life

The sculpting of a portrait bust is one of the most intriguing and challenging experiences any artist or beginner may have. Understanding and acquiring skills in learning and physically creating a portrait bust can help an artist with portrait painting, drawing or sculpting from life and imagination.
